The Activities and Sports Festival is your chance to feature your organization to the Lakeville Area community.

The Activities and Sports Festival is an interactive family event provided by Lakeville Area Schools, in partnership with local community organizations. The event gives families the opportunity to learn about activities and sports that are available locally for their child(ren). The event features hands-on, interactive games for all ages, live music and performances, sports demonstrations, food vendors, open swim and more.

The event will be held on Saturday, Feb. 21 from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m., with a sensory-friendly hour being hosted from 2-3 p.m. at Kenwood Trail Middle School. Your organization is invited to apply to be a part of the event now through Jan. 23.

Calling all families! Explore activities and sports for all ages! Experience activities from more than 25 District and community organizations offering everything from educational opportunities to fine arts to sports. Attendees can also enjoy a photo booth, stage shows, open swim, interactive activities, food vendors, and so much more!

Join the Team! Volunteers Needed for the Activities & Sports Festival 🏅

Do you love being part of a vibrant community? Lakeville Area Schools and Community Education are looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help us host the Activities and Sports Festival!

This event is a "one-stop shop" for local families to explore everything from district programs to local sports associations. It’s a high-energy, fun-filled day designed to help students of all ages find their next passion—and we need your help to make it happen!

All volunteers get an exclusive Activities and Sports Festival t-shirt and a $7 food voucher to use at our food service concession stand! Check out the menu on the Food Service tab!

Location: Kenwood Trail Middle School
Event Time: 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
Sensory Friendly Hour: 2:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.
The Vibe: Interactive, family-friendly, and FUN!

How You Can Help

We have several shifts and roles available to fit your interests:

Available Shifts: 9:45 a.m. – 12:45 p.m. OR 12:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m.
Roles Include: Greeters, Vendor Check-in, Gym/Commons Walkers, Survey Takers, Bounce House Monitors, and the Tear-Down Crew.

Sensory Hour

A Festival for Every Body and Every Mind

We believe every student in Lakeville deserves the chance to discover new passions. To ensure a welcoming experience for families with special needs or sensory processing sensitivities, we are dedicated to a "No-Loud-Zone" during the final hour of our festival.

The Sensory-Friendly Hour will take place from 2 to 3 p.m.

What to Expect During the Sensory-Friendly Hour:

Reduced Noise: No microphones, music, or whistles.
Calm Lighting: Flashing lights and strobes will be turned off.
Gentle Interaction: Exhibitors are trained to provide 1-on-1, low-pressure engagement.
Space to Move: Wide pathways and clear booth areas for easy navigation and personal space.

Plan Your Visit

Look for the "Sensory Friendly Participant" signs at each booth. These booths have committed to creating a low-impact environment where your child can explore at their own pace.
