We are looking to add another coach to our staff specifically to work with our varsity sideline team! Our Varsity Competition team competes locally and as well works towards a bid to Quest Nationals in Orlando, FL. Lakeville Cheerleading strives to create a positive, safe and fun environment for student athletes to grow mentally and physically. This position will work under the direction of a head coach. Our current coaching staff are very passionate about working together to improve and grow the program as a whole!
This is a year round position:
May - March (There will be breaks on, school breaks, Holidays and busier weekends - full list off days off given during interview)
Season Schedule:
Days/Dates: Tuesdays/Thursdays
Practice will run for 2.5 hours (evening time frame)
Competitions are generally on Saturdays (about 7-10 total throughout the season)
Season Goals:
-Prepare athletes for the current & college level by making sure proper technique is being taught and drilled for each skill
-Creative a positive, encouraging environment where athletes feel welcome and a part of a family of cheerleaders
-Keeping all athletes safe by working at proper progression and having spots as needed
-Set and implement program wide practice expectations for being a student athlete in Lakeville Cheerleading.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Supervises and develops the overall tumbling skills program.
- Teach proper technique for tumbling skills:
- Basic: Cartwheels, handstands, forward rolls, backward rolls
- Intermediate: Back walkovers, roundoffs, bridge kickovers, intro to back handsprings
- Advanced: Back handsprings, roundoff + skill, back tucks, layouts
- Lead warm-ups for beginner levels and assist with advanced warm-ups.
- Participate in staff training as needed.
- Follow all policies and procedures, including submitting injury reports.
- Communicate effectively with athletes, parents, and staff.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
- Experience in gymnastics, tumbling, and/or cheer preferred.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
