Band Camp

For 5th Graders Only (2025-26 school year)
Registration opens Mon, May 19
Lakeville Community Education is collaborating with the middle and elementary school and teachers to offer group band lessons this summer. Students will receive an introduction to their band instrument and the fundamentals of playing. This class is great preparation for the fall school band program. During the registration process, you will be asked to indicate the instrument you are playing, as well as if you or the school owns it, or if you are renting it from a company. *If you are renting from a music company we will need to know which company. This is so the instructors can have your instrument ready for you on the first day. If you have questions about getting an instrument, please talk to your child’s elementary school band teacher.

Private Music Lessons

Grades 1-8

Want to take up a new instrument over the summer or improve on an instrument you already play? Try guitar, saxophone, clarinet or beginning piano lessons! Lessons will focus on note-reading, basic music theory, and instrumental technique, with the objective that students will have the basic skills and proficiency needed to continue to improve their skills and enjoy their instrument long after the summer session is completed. The instructor has years of experience playing all instruments offered in addition to experience teaching private lessons. Students should provide their own instruments, while piano will be available at the facility.

Babysitting
Ages 10 1/2-15

Gain the skills and confidence to be a great babysitter. This course is fun and fast-paced with hands- on activities, exciting video, role plays and lively discussions. It teaches young people how to:
• Care for children and infants
• Handle emergencies
• Communicate effectively with parents
• Make good decisions, solve problems and stay safe

Home Alone
Ages 8-10

Learn information to make sure you’re comfortable and safe when staying home alone, whether for five minutes or a couple of hours. Does your child know what to do in case of a fire? If there is a stranger at the door? How to use the Internet safely? If they get hungry and want a snack? Our Home Alone class will provide many necessary tools so your child is well-equipped to stay home without an adult. Kids will make first aid kits and learn about fire escape routes, first aid, kitchen safety, boredom busters & more.
