WINTER YOUTH SERVICE PROJECT
Creating a Home Library for Kids
Grades 6-8
Are you a middle schooler who loves reading? Help young readers build their home libraries by organizing a neighborhood book drive! Collect gently used or "like new" books to create an inventory for a special event at the Lakeville Heritage Library. Students in grades 6-8 can sign up to support this initiative. Middle school volunteers will begin the evening by writing book recommendations on shelf-talker cards and organizing the donated books. The library will then be transformed into a "bookstore" for a free book distribution, where children Pre-K through 5th grade can "shop" for books with the help of middle school volunteers. T-shirt included for volunteers!
